Biography
President Charlene Heard began her career in Law Enforcement with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 1989 as a Deputy Sheriff. She advanced through the ranks to become the first female Major in the Law Enforcement Division of the Sheriff’s Office. After 27 years for dedicated service, she retired in December 2016.
President Charlene Heard is currently employed with Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) as an Instructor/ Regional Coordinator for Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training. Where she coordinates training classes in the Metro Atlanta Area for various law enforcement agencies for CIT Training. She is also a member of the Police force at GPSTC.
President Charlene Heard has extensive experience in management and leadership. As a Manager she created staffing plans that made it safer for the deputies’ work environment when there were staff shortage. As a Leader she provided directions in crises and often supported her subordinates during their crisis.
President Charlene Heard believes the that Executive Board of Lodge 64 the Fraternal Order of Police should be and have, “Transparency, Integrity, Proficiency” in order to work for the good of the members they are serving.
President Charlene Heard would like to thanks each of you for entrusting her with the leadership position of “President of Lodge 64”. It is her honor to serve as the head of the lodge and it is her pleasure to serve the members and in the community of Fulton County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 64. She is looking forward to working with each of you. Her goals are to continue to move the lodge forward, have an activity present in the community, and fight for the rights of the members.
